I went with a modular grid, alluding to that of architectural blueprints.


—Past versions

Version 1I dropped this version because (1) there were too much negative space and (2) I want to use a sans-serif font throughout since sans-serifs are commonly seen on blueprints




Version 2This layout was too confusing and not easily adapted for multiple journals.



Version 3Clean, easy to adapt, but a little boring and predictable.
